Experts say hiking is good for the mind, body and soul. It has been found to lower the risk of depression and aid in the healing of the mind.
Sometimes life can get hectic so it's important to take time out for yourself from the everyday hustle and bustle and give your mind and body a chance to recoup.
If you haven't hiked before you will be pleasantly surprised as to how good you will feel afterwards!!
There's something about the power of nature that will leave you feeling like a new person, maybe it's the peacefulness of the bush, perhaps it's the pride and personal achievement of completing a walk or maybe it's just that amazing feeling you get when you arrive at a place that you know no one else can get to, only by foot.
At Bush Treks you can find everything under the one roof; the walk, where to pitch your tent, the equipment to take and other handy tips to help you along the way and make your bush trek experience comfortable but most importantly enjoyable.
On this site you can search by location, distance, difficulty or time.
Bush Treks is designed for the novice walker to the more experienced, there's something for everyone.
Each walk is clearly set out with detailed directions and photos to help you find your way and designated location.
In the 'Rucksack' you will find information on hiking equipment, free camp spots, safety tips and lots more.
The 'tags' will help you find what you need which can be found on the home page. For example, you might want to take your dog for a bush walk with you; you would then select the 'dogs' tag. All the walks that you can take your dog on will then appear.
Every walk, camp spot and equipment has been tried and tested by myself so that I could bring to you the most accurate and detailed information available.
At Bush Treks we always welcome feedback, good or bad. So please feel free to email or message if you have any questions or concerns.
Bush Treks Tasmania was founded in 2015, starting from a small blog on a Facebook page it went viral over night with over 1000 'likes' I couldn't believe what I was seeing and I soon realised I was on to something, there was a need for a page that highlighted some of Tasmania's most magnificent walks that had easy to follow directions with an explosion of energy to boot.
The aim to have a website that had everything under the one roof; walks, free camp spots, hiking tips and products. The Rucksack came about......
An amateur walker I was at the time, I created the Facebook 'Bush Treks Tasmania' page sharing my stories and gaining insight and learning from other more experienced walkers who would happily shared their tips and experiences with me.
There was already a few great sights out there for bushwalking in Tasmania however I often struggled with the lack of directions getting to a walk or track directions and so this was my inspiration for starting 'Bush Treks Tasmania' Facebook page and what has led me to developing this website for easy navigation of exploring Tasmania's wonderful wilderness. I introduce to you Bush Treks!!
