Today I decided to make the most of this lovely Tasmanian sunshine after work and embark on a short walk and so I headed down to Taroona for the Alum Cliffs walk.
A pleasant track that doesn't take long to get one's heart rate up with a steep climb at the beginning then leveling out.
If you want a walk with amazing views overlooking the Derwent then this is the one for you!!
There are a few good hills to climb but the majority of the walk is very easy and flat.
HOW TO GET THERE:
Drive 15 minutes out of Hobart to the Shot Tower in Taroona. Here you can park your car, the walk starts from the car park.
TIPS:
When you hit the fork in the track overlooking the beach stick to the upper track, this is not clearly sign posted. I had to spend a good few minutes working out if the arrow was pointing left or right or up the tree.
OTHER:
The track has a mix of man made and natural bush tracks
