Today we decided to go exploring in the Hartz Mountains. I don't know if you would really call it a bush walk or more of a wander. What a little piece of heaven this place is, cascading waterfalls and valleys that run for miles. It was simply breathtaking. We were lucky enough to have had a bit of rainfall the last couple of days that made it that much more spectacular.

HOW TO GET THERE:

- Drive 50 mins south of Hobart to Geeveston, just before the Geeveston town turn off you will need to turn right onto Arve Road.

- Travel for approx 6km up Arve road until you reach a group of signs for Hartz Mountain National Park, Tahune Forest Airwalk, Arve road,

Picton River and Arve River Picnic Area. Turn left here.

- Travel along this road for a distance and you will first come to Arve River Picnic area, continue on and you will reach Waratah Lookout and

then drive further up you will reach the car park for Arve Falls.

The total distance from the turn off at the group of signs to the Arve Falls car park is 11.6km.

There is a free camp area at the Arve River Picnic Area of you want to camp.

We decided to stay at a beautiful little cottage accommodation near Geeveston which will be able to be viewed on the Tasmanian Abodes site tomorrow.

I hope you get to enjoy this beautiful part of Tasmania soon!!
