26 September 2015

HOW TO GET THERE:

-Drive time from Hobart is 10-15 minutes.

-Head to Risdon Brooke Dam and park car.

-Walk across the bridge and go around the bend for another 500m and you will come to a green bench. Head up behind here to a gate,

this is the starting point. Go through the gate and turn right onto the track.

OTHER:

-The majority of the track is flat with only two steep climbs, one at the beginning and one at the end. You will hit the end when you walk up

a steep hill and there are two power towers and a great view over the Derwent River.

- If you want to get an even better view there is a small mountain on the left hand side - climb it.

- There is no track here and it is very rocky terrain so make sure you have good walking boots on and take is slowly as it can be

   dangerous.

- The view from the top is breathtaking.

- If you plan to do this part of the walk/climb allow an extra 30 minutes on top of the 2 hour standard return. Walking level for this leg is

  defiantly difficult.
